Brazilian JiuJitsu in El Dorado Hills. Learn the Ultimate Martial Art!

Offering martial arts and self-defense training, El Dorado Hills JiuJitsu Academy is the first academy of its kind in the El Dorado County.
Located at 1132 Suncast Lane, the academy opened several years ago and has produced several world champions in just those few years.
Eliot Kelly, lead instructor at El Dorado Hills Jiu-Jitsu, said he has been training in martial arts, grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for more than 15 years.
“I graduated from Rocklin High School, attended UC Davis as an under graduate and worked in Japan for a few years after graduating,” he said. “When I moved back to the States, my wife and I fell in love with the beautiful area and people.”
As lead instructor, Eliot teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, an intense cardio workout that teaches the understanding of body control and defense.  According to Eliot, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is similar to the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) but without the striking.
“JiuJitsu is practical in everyday life,” Eliot added. “JiuJitsu is good for a lot of things, not just grappling.”
Eliot also offers self-defense training in his “Bully Proof” program for children ages 5-13.
Classes are also offered for adults 14 years and older.
Classes begin with calisthenics and stretching. Basic techniques are taught for about 30 minutes, followed by about 30 minutes of intermediate or advanced training.
Beginners to Jiu-Jitsu should expect at least three to five months of solid training before seeing significant returns in their technique and physical conditioning, and at least 12 months of training to get a solid grasp of the basics.
