EDHBJJ finished up the year with the 2nd Annual Winter Championships. The tournament was a great opportunity for students to apply and display what they have been learning in a competitive tournament atmosphere. The instructors were both pleased and amazed by the technique, determination, and sportsmanship on show! Since the tournament tripled in numbers from last year with four divisions for the kids and three divisions for the adults, there were many more exciting moments of the night! However, there is no denying that these matches deserve some special recognition. Kids "Match of the Night" went to Michael & Angelo, with a never ending stream of attacks for submissions by both competitors! The Adults "Fight of the Night" went to Blue belts Kyle and Trevor, for the amazing show of fluidity in transitions, attacks and counter-attacks, and display of Martial Arts Spirit!
After the tournament, awards were given to each competitor and several individuals were recognized as they had earned their belt promotion. Congrats to all the competitors! Also, a Special THANK YOU to Dave, Kevin, & Mark for helping with the scoring and brackets during the tournament! We are looking forward to another fun & exciting year in 2012!
