Tournament Results: International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Las Vegas Open

This weekend August 11 was the IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) Las Vegas International Open. United under Team Yemaso Jiu-Jitsu of Sacramento, Jordan Hernandez, Garrett Aldrich, and Eliot Kelly stepped on the mat from El Dorado Hills Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The tournament began with Garrett taking taking solid victories to finish with the bronze in his "come back" tournament, after overcoming several injuries and surgeries. He led the team off to a great start as we followed with the competition.

Eliot took charge in his weight class, taking gold in his division. Jordan followed Eliot in competition as he dominated his division with impressive mat control, taking the gold. In the absolute division Garrett and Eliot both made a tough run to get to the podium. Garrett fell short by one round to make it to the podium in his absolute (all weights combined) division. Eliot made a good run also, and managed to secure the bronze medal as he fell short of the gold with a 2-0 defeat in the semi-final bout.
These competitors did an amazing job preparing for the competition and representing the Sacramento area with pride and class. Every victory by someone we train with is a victory to us all! Great work everyone! Please give the competitors a BIG congratulations the next time you see them!
